Behaviours such as aggression\, withdrawal and avoidance\, substance use\, high distress and ‘help-seeking’ make engagement tricky and can be distressing and can be dangerous. Traditional behavioural approaches to de-escalation are inadequate and often make the situation worse. The techniques explored in this workshop are easy to apply to any situation\, powerful\, and fast. They stem from a sound theoretical basis and are taught by a skilled clinician who has been on the front line. \nTrainer bio\nDr Erin Holloway. PhD (Clin.Psych.)\, Post.Grad.Dip.App.Psych.\, BAppSci.
