ABC TV’s new series of ‘You Can’t Ask That’ features an episode on Public Housing.
The show kicks of with a question that gets straight to the heart of the common perception of public housing tenants- ‘How come you get a house for doing nothing?’
The answers covers the gamut of issues that workers in the sector are familiar with and include illness, trauma, mental health and family breakdown.
Although this show underscores what many of us already know to be true, it might be a good show to refer curious friends and family to and it provides great insight into the very human side of the significant social issue of homelessness and housing affordability.
