Building New Regional Homes For Those Who Need It Most

By 28/10/2021No Comments

The Social Housing Growth Fund will be funding up to $300 million to provide grants to fund about 1,000 new homes across regional Victoria to help address housing affordability challenges for families in regional Victoria and give more Victorians the stability of a home. Community housing agencies are to work together with private, non-profit and local government partners for their communities and create stable and secure housing for low-income Victorians.

Local councils that identify opportunities such as under utilised council land, will be encouraged to partner with community housing agencies to develop proposals together.

These new developments, when completed, will be allocated to people who have applied for housing through the Victorian Housing Register.

This regional funding round is now open and will close at 2pm on Thursday, 24 February 2022.
