Andrew’s Government Backflips on Social Housing Tax

It hasn’t even been two weeks since the Andrew’s Government announced that developers would be facing a 1.75% levy on all new developments, and today, Treasurer Tim Pallas announced the package is “off the table for good” and would not proceed under a re-elected Andrews Labor government.

Developers are delighted of course, and sadly another opportunity to raise much needed funds for social housing has been missed after what has been described as  a “misinformation campaign” led by the construction and building industry.
