The Hon Julie Collins MP, Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness, Minister for Small Business today released this statement urging all Senators to back the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund from the Jacqui Lambie Network.
Key points from the media release:
- Housing Australia’s investment mandate will see it take all reasonable steps to make available a minimum of 1,200 dwellings in each state or territory over the first five years
- The Fund is backed by numerous stakeholders, including housing experts, community housing providers, and Housing Ministers from across the country
- Returns from the Housing Australia Future Fund will help deliver the Government’s commitment of 30,000 new social and affordable rental homes in the fund’s first five years, and
- Includes 4,000 homes for women and children impacted by family and domestic violence or older women at risk of homelessness.
