Addressing First Nations housing disadvantage: a blueprint for action

First Nations people face severe housing disadvantage. An estimated 45,700 low-income Indigenous households had unmet housing needs in 2021 – equivalent to one in every eight and almost double the rate for all Australians. Meanwhile, initiatives intended to help are flagging, and housing systems are fragmented across federal, state and territory levels. AHURI’s two-year Inquiry into Indigenous housing revealed this and produced a blueprint for action that was endorsed by a panel of government officials and Indigenous leaders.

So, what will it take to improve housing for First Nations people, and ensure housing systems and initiatives are functioning correctly? Join us for the next AHURI webinar, where speakers will explore lessons from the Inquiry.

Who should attend: Anyone shaping or implementing policy relating to Indigenous housing, working in the sector, or interested in improving First Nations housing outcomes.
