Dear colleagues in the Homelessness Sector,
I’m writing to warmly invite you to a public event hosted by RMIT University to mark International Women’s Day 2020
The topic of the event is pregnancy and homelessness, and will include the launch of the report ‘Not Pregnant Enough’: Pregnancy and Homelessness (Murray, Theobald, Haylett & Watson, 2020) and a panel of speakers.
The event will be held 4-6pm, Wednesday 4 March 2020, RMIT University, in the ‘Green Brain’, Storey Hall, corner Swanston and La Trobe Streets, Melbourne.
Speakers are:
- Kat – Lived experiences of pregnancy and homelessness
- Dr Jacqui Theobald (La Trobe University) and Dr Juliet Watson (RMIT University) – ‘Not pregnant enough?’: Pregnancy and homelessness
- Dr Theresa Lynch (Royal Women’s Hospital) – Responding to pregnancy and homelessness: The Women’s Alcohol and Drug Service at the Royal Women’s Hospital
- Professor Donna Chung (Curtin University) – Highlighting gender inequality: Pregnancy, homelessness and gender violence
There will be light refreshments at the event and an Q & A session with the speakers after their presentations.
