Back in 2012 Fair Work Australia made a landmark decision to raise the pay rate for the mostly female community sector workforce over eight years, with the final instalment due in December 2020.
However, the Federal Government has not committed to extending this agreement beyond 2020, meaning that gains bridging the gender pay gap could be lost and thousands of jobs affected.
